German violinist Lena Michelle Kolesnikov is currently pursuing a Master of Music in Orchestral
Artistry at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London, where she studies with Krysia
Osostowicz and works closely with musicians of the London Symphony Orchestra. A named scholar
at Guildhall, she previously studied as a scholar at the Royal College of Music, graduating with first-
class honours under the guidance of Sasha Rozhdestvensky, Jennifer Pike, and Gabrielle Lester. From
September, she will continue her studies in the United States, having been awarded a full scholarship
to pursue an Artist Diploma at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh with Callum Smart.
Michelle has gained extensive orchestral experience, performing with ensembles across Germany,
Italy and the UK, including appearances at major venues such as the Konzerthaus Berlin, Alte Oper
Frankfurt and the Barbican. She has collaborated with distinguished conductors including Vasily
Petrenko, Maxim Vengerov, and Gianandrea Noseda, and has taken part in projects with leading
orchestras such as the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra and the London Symphony Orchestra.
An active chamber musician, she is a member of the Nuvem Quartet and has participated in
masterclasses with renowned artists and ensembles including the Cremona and Endellion Quartet. Her
musical achievements include multiple first prizes at national competitions such as Jugend Musiziert
and the Mendelssohn Competition. She currently performs on a fine 1864 Lorenz Küntzel violin,
generously on loan from the Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben.
