Eryna Kisumba is a British-Ugandan cellist with a passion for outreach, orchestral, and chamber music. Currently in her second year of the Orchestral Artistry master’s programme at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, she studies with Rebecca Gilliver. Eryna graduated from the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire in 2023 with First Class Honours in Performance, studying under Ben Davies and participating in masterclasses with cellists such as Hannah Roberts, Jian Wang, and Julian Lloyd Webber.

As an orchestral musician, Eryna has performed with the City of Birmingham Symphony Youth Orchestra, where she was principal cellist and worked with conductors including Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla, Ilan Volkov and Kazuki Yamada. She has performed in orchestras and chamber groups at venues such as the Royal Albert Hall, Barbican Hall, Symphony Hall and Milton Court Concert Hall. She has also performed with the Dorset Festival Opera Orchestra and participated in the Royal Opera House mentorship scheme under Hetty Snell.

In addition to her performing career, Eryna is dedicated to outreach and music education. In 2023, she won the RBC

Pedagogy Prize and has since worked with a range of organisations, including the London Symphony Orchestra, Wigmore Hall, and the Royal Opera House, leading workshops and performances for children and different community groups.
