Three Rivers Festival • Music in the Heart of Scotland

Isabelle Allan draws on a rich musical heritage that has shaped her artistic voice from an early age. She began her violin studies with Sheila Nelson, later continuing her training with Sarah Trickey at the Junior Guildhall and subsequently with Sebastian Mueller. Her formative years were further enriched by the influential Musicworks courses, which sparked a deep and enduring passion for chamber music.
In 2021, Isabelle commenced studies with the distinguished violinist Stephanie Gonley, marking an important step in her artistic development. She has also benefited from the guidance of leading chamber musicians, including Gary Pomeroy, Donald Grant, and Krysia Osostowicz.
Recent highlights include leading the JSB Ensemble in March 2026 at the International Bach Festival in Stuttgart under the direction of Hans-Christoph Rademann, as well as performances in Arnstadt as part of Thüringer Bachwochen. Her growing festival profile includes appearances at the London International Festival of Early Music, Southwell Music Festival, Festival Internacional de Música and Cistermúsica in Portugal, and the International Music Festival Koblenz.
Isabelle is studying for her masters under the renowned pedagogue David Takeno. She currently performs on a fine Gagliano violin, generously on loan through the luthier Mark Jennings, and a bow by Dodd.
