Leeloo Creed, is a violist based in London, currently studying a Master of Performance with Matthew Jones at The Guildhall School of Music and Drama. She graduated from the University of Birmingham, where she studied with Rose Redgrave and was the principal violist of the University’s Philharmonic Orchestra and Symphony Orchestra. She also performed regularly with the CBSO Youth Orchestra and the Frankland Quartet.

After graduating, Leeloo became a Learning and Engagement Officer at the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra. A varied role which allowed a peek behind the curtain of a world-class orchestra. Whilst there, she received coaching from the wonderful viola section and had private tutelage from Principal Violist David Bamaung. Subsequently, she was accepted to all the conservatoires that she applied to and received multiple scholarship offers.

A keen orchestral player, Leeloo performs regularly with the Guildhall Symphony Orchestra and Young Musician Symphony Orchestra. She has worked with conductors such as Joshua Weilerstein, Ilan Volkov and Jonathan Bloxham, performing at Birmingham Symphony Hall and the Barbican. She has also played in side-by-side projects with the English National Ballet, LSO Orchestral Artistry Programme and was the principal violist for the CBSO Shostakovich 7 side-by-side project earlier this year. As a soloist, Leeloo performed the Telemann Viola Concerto with the Sinfonia of Birmingham and her upcoming recitals include performances at Milton Court and St Lawrence Jewry Church.

Leeloo plays on a viola made by Tony Padday, based in Somerset, which has been generously lent to her by Amy Thomas. She is grateful for the support of The Leverhulme Trust, Denne Gilkes Memorial Fund, James Langley Memorial Trust and Gwyn Williams Bursary Fund, which have made it possible for her to fund her education.
