
Eva Smeddle is a composer, arranger and singer studying at St Mary’s Music
School in Edinburgh, and has been taught by Neil Tòmas Smith, Simon Smith and
Thomas Butler. In 2024, Eva graduated from the Junior Programme at the Royal
Conservatoire of Scotland having studied both composition and voice.
As a singer, Eva has an interest in Choral writing and has won multiple carol
arranging competitions as well as being highly commended in the annual Sir
David Willcocks Carol Composer Competition.
In March 2025, Eva was commissioned by the Glasgow Chamber Orchestra, a
project which gained attention from the Scottish Times and had a motion raised
in the UK parliament.
Eva has arranged multiple works for orchestra performed in venues such as
Glasgow City Halls, Edinburgh Queens Hall and Edinburgh St Cuthbert’s Parish
Church. Eva has also written a set of pieces for lower brass performed at multiple
lower brass day events across Scotland.
Upcoming for Eva is a commission from Edinburgh based chamber choir Calton
Consort to be performed in December 2026. In September 2026, Eva will begin
her Undergraduate in Vocal Studies at the Royal College of Music where she will
study with Miranda Wright.
