A creative response to the ruined hermitage next the waterfalls of Auchinlillylinn Spout.

"Remember’st thou a little, lonely hut that, like a holy Hermitage appears among the cliffs of Carron ... the Cottage of the Cliffs’"

(The Tragedy of Douglas, John Home, 1756)

Orla and Anna discovered the ruins of the hermitage one day when wild-water swimming and became fascinated by the spot, revered in local lore both as a ‘fearful place’ and a ‘fairy-land’. The concert will explore their connection to this place, to the people that lived there, and the mysticism surrounding the waterfall. Their response will combine sonic and visual improvisation, with field recordings and visual projection.
